Museums and Locations

  1. Edinburgh Castle
    • This could take you the better part of a day.
    • it has the Scottish grown jewels.
    • The coronation stone originates from here.
    • Lots of great stuff to see.
    • if you happen to be there when a “Tattoo” is going on, spend the money and see it. Google it.
    • I have not really done anything else in Edinburgh, sorry.
  2. Stirling – William Wallace
    • Climb the National Wallace Monument
      • take the tour
    • Stirling Castle
      • big castle, it can take some time.
    • Old Stirling Bridge
    • The Battle of Bannockburn Visitor Centre
      • this can take some time, leave plenty of time.
  3. St. Andrews – Golf Course and Town
    • courses are open to the public
    • we walked around the Old Course while people were playing.
    • It’s a nice town too.
      • Castle that I have not been to
      • Golf Museum that I have not been to
      • Cathedral ruins that I have not been to
  4. Dunnottar Castle
    • Beautiful castle overlooking the ocean.
    • you can go down by the water too
    • it’s mostly in ruins, but those are my favorites.
  5. Balmoral Castle
    • The Queen’s favorite castle she said
    • She actually passed away here.
    • I think you can book rooms to stay there now?
    • Great grounds and castle.
  6. Aberdeen – Don’t go unless you have to stop there for some reason.
    • It’s just not that nice and not much to do.
  7. Elgin
    • Johnston’s of Elgin 
      • old school woolen mill
    • Elgin Cathedral
  8. Culloden
    • Famous battle field where, wait for it…the English gave a beating to the Scots
    • there is a great museum and battlefield to see.
  9. Loch Ness
    • See Nessie!!
  10. Other places I have not been but I want to go:
    • Glasgow
    • Falkirk
    • Isle Of Skye
    • the rest of the highlands
    • Inverness
