Pine trees crusted with snow, silent under the sun of winter. ItÕs when the world has settled into a slumber only to awaken in the spring. This modelÕs dial celebrates the winter snow as it gathers and glitters against the sunlight.

Case Design: The Iconic 62GS Modern Reinterpretation
Launched in 1967, the 62GS was Grand SeikoÕs first automatic movement. This timepiece gained popularity for its striking design featuring a mirrored, multi-sided case and wide dial opening, which was achieved with bezel-free construction and SeikoÕs signature Zaratsu polishing technique. Pure, refined, and noble, the 62GS is a treasured classic.

Movement: 9R65 caliber that Grand Seiko assembles in its Shinshu Watch Studio, located in
Nagano Prefecture. This sophisticated movement combines modern technology with
the skilled hands of master craftspeople for its fine adjustments and high precision. The Spring Drive movement further reflects the smooth passage of
time with every revolution.

Calibre 9R65:

Grand Seiko unveiled Spring Drive in 1999, but its lack of a sufficiently effective automatic winding mechanism and 72-hour power reserve prevent its adoption in the Grand Seiko line. After a further four years of development, the first Grand Seiko 9R Spring Drive was created.

The winding system and drive time were improved from the existing 48-hour manual winding system to an automatic 72-hour power reserve. The automatic winding mechanism uses Seiko's original Magic Lever mechanism developed in 1959, but with improved productivity, maintainability, and durability to enhance winding efficiency.

Caliber 9R65 is currently the most standard of the 9R Spring Drive movements, and is used in many Grand Seiko models.
